L.E.A.D Program Outline
Leadership Enrichment And Development Program
Elementary Classroom Leadership Curriculum

Benefits for Students
The L.E.A.D program strives to help elementary aged students develop both personally and as leaders in order to better prepare them to be positive members of their communities.  By giving them the tools they need to be self-confident, solve problems, communicate clearly, and work in teams, students will be more ready for whatever the future holds.

Benefits for Educators
The L.E.A.D program benefits educators in many ways.  It fosters a stronger and more positive community inside and outside the classroom.  With less disruptive behavior and students having the tools to solve their own problems, educators have more time to spend on quality academics.  By empowering students at the elementary school level, educators in middle and high school will have students who are more prepared to learn and deal with adolescence.

Program Focus
The L.E.A.D program focuses on personal and leadership development in each student in the following areas:

Personal Development
Leadership Development
Positive action
Goal setting
Prioritizing
Self Confidence
Personal awareness
Personal growth and health

Helping others
Listening
Working Together
Public speaking skills

These outcomes are reached through a combination of different strategies: The 7 Habits of Happy Kids, Tribes Learning Communities, Lifeskills, and teambuilding activities.  Through a balance of knowledge acquisition and opportunities to practice and reflect on the skills learned, students will grow and transform throughout the year.
